Helen Most Popular Jenny Has “Nice Personality”

Prime Minister Helen Clark will be straining to hold back her trade-mark gloat, two recent polls show voters have continued their honeymoon with her and the Labour Party, conversely while National’s support is holding, the only good thing voters have say about Jenny Shipley is that she “has is a nice personality”.

According to the two polls Prime Minister Helen Clark’s personal popularity as preferred Prime Minister has risen to between 36 per cent (TV3 CM Research poll) and a massive 43 per cent (One News Colmar Brunton Poll), while Jenny Shipley’s has plummeted to an all time low; between 13 and 15 per cent respectively.

Helen Clark has also improved on the capability stakes with 78 per cent rating her as a capable leader, a rise from her previous poll result of 62 per cent.

According to those polled Jenny Shipley has more personality than the current Prime Minister, the only result where she out-polled Miss Clark.

In party terms, Labour is still in front with over 50 per cent in both, while National’s support held steady at around 30 per cent.

Smaller parties cannot be so complacent, with both ACT and the Alliance losing votes to Labour and polling from between four and five per cent, this time around, considerably lower than their election results

Meanwhile the Greens support has remained steady at four per cent and Rasta MP Nandor Tanzcos makes it into the polls for the first time with 2 per cent as preferred Prime Minister.

New Zealand First’s disastrous election campaign has left them lurking in the margin of error of between 1 to 3 per cent.

The polls each questioned 1000 voters and each had margins of error of plus or minus 3.1 per cent
