Scoop Enters The Red Sheriff Audited Top 10

Scooping the Red Sheriff Top 10

Online news agency Scoop.co.nz has entered Red Sherriff’s Top Ten audited web sites in July.

Little known in the advertising and media-planning world – news site Scoop.co.nz entered Red Sheriff’s Top 10 audited web sites at number 9, with over 240 000 unique visitors.

Not bad going for an independent agency competing with the big guns of New Zealand’s news media and backed by heavy resources.

The audited Number 9 ranking marks Scoop.co.nz, an independent news organization, worthy of an interested eye and attention from media buyers.

“We’re very pleased with the Red Sheriff stats – and impressed with the tools Red Sheriff provide us in proving our case to the media-planning community.

“‘Degree qualified, thirty-something professionals earning over $50K’ is much more credible with a Red Sheriff tag!,” said Business Development Manager, Wade Bishop.

Scoop.co.nz is unique in New Zealand media – some might even say “quirky”. At its heart is a great depth of “raw news” content from across the political through business scenes – while on its “fringe” Scoop.co.nz delivers hard-hitting, (often premonitory), commentary on international affairs.

On the surface this first seems to be an incongruous mix – but with site traffic on a trend-line doubling year-on-year, it appears to be working very well indeed.

“Raw, press-release-driven news has proved to be an invaluable resource for the public and private sectors in terms of timeliness and for intelligence gathering. But we have also found our audience appreciates intelligent, thoughtful and challenging reportage. They tell us so!,” Bishop said.

Media Planners take note – Scoop.co.nz is the “thinking professionals” news site. And we need as many of those as we can get!
