What Does A Single Trans Tasman Market Mean?
MEDIA ALERT
6 July 2004
What does a single trans Tasman economic market mean?
Join the Who's Who of Auckland business and attend the presentation by Australian High Commissioner to New Zealand, Dr Allan Hawke on the current status of the bilateral objective to create a Single Economic Market (SEM) for Australia and New Zealand.
Dr Hawke will be speaking at the CPA Australia New Zealand branch function held in the Hilton Auckland Hotel. His remarks will follow on from a CPA Australia business function in Wellington last week at which he tracked the quest to move from Closer Economic Relations (CER) to a Single Economic Market (SEM), including the risks of 'Groundhog Day' behaviour undermining the common strategic intent.
A participant at the inaugural Australia New Zealand Leadership Forum held recently in Wellington, Dr Hawke is right at the centre of the SEM currents and processes.
CPA Australia's CEO, Greg Larsen, will host the function and introduce Dr Hawke. Mr Larsen, who comes from New Zealand, was appointed CPA Australia CEO in 2001 and has an extensive management career in finance, strategy, planning, IT and marketing.
CPA Australia is the largest professional finance, accounting and business advisory body in Australia. It is the sixth largest accounting body in the world, with more than 102,000 members, including members in Australia, New Zealand, Asia and Europe.
