Passport To Fashion Wins Ticket To Air New Zealand Fashion Week

After more than a million votes on line, MAX reveals the official t-shirt for the 2004 collections.

Christchurch student Hannah Ogilvie has taken another step on her journey to fashion fame as the winner of the MAX competition to design the official t-shirt for Air New Zealand Fashion Week 2004.

After a nationwide design quest, Passport to Fashion was judged the best concept for the collections by designer Kate Sylvester, MAX Managing Director, David Wright and Air New Zealand Fashion Week Managing Director, Pieter Stewart.

More than a million voters logged onto the MAX website to give their opinion on the four finalists, chosen from more than 220 t-shirts received from all over the country.

Hannah's quirky take on the emblem from the New Zealand passport which was rearranged to include fashion icons including a tape measure and fabric swatches was a firm favourite.

MAX Managing Director David Wright liked Hannah's concept so much he's also used it to illustrate the official delegates bag, which will also be sold in all 34 MAX stores around the country.

"Last year the official bags and t-shirts were a huge hit and we think the demand will be just as hot this year. As a twist on a classic kiwi icon, Hannah's t-shirt and bag design perfectly reflects the MAX philosophy of Keeping New Zealand Beautiful."

Air New Zealand will fly Hannah to Air New Zealand Fashion Week where she'll also pick up her first prize cheque of $2,000.00 and take in the sight of all the delegates, ushers and staff wearing her design during the event.

As for the other finalists, in recognition of such overwhelming public support, MAX has committed to producing the two runner-up tees, Tape Measure and Infinity Loop. Both will also be sold in store this summer.

The official bag, official t-shirt and the runner-up tees go on sale in time for Air New Zealand Fashion Week which begins on 18th October.

The t-shirt will be $49.00 and the bag is $79.00.
