Friends, Kiwis And Celebs, Lend Me Your Lips
More than 40 kissable Kiwis are being asked to pucker up for a good cause.
The ‘Pucker Up For Charity’ promotion is being organised by L’Oréal New Zealand Limited as part of the company’s support for the L’Oréal New Zealand Fashion Week in late October.
The chosen ones – males and females – are being invited to layer on the lipstick and plant a kiss on a card to be framed and auctioned on-line for Look Good…Feel Better.
Look Good…Feel Better is a charity dedicated to teaching beauty techniques to women with cancer and it is L’Oréal’s main charity.
The kisses and the names of the donors will be mounted and displayed during L’Oréal New Zealand Fashion Week in the L’Oréal Paris Powder Room, the place to be seen for media and celebrities during the five-day fashion fest.
Charlotte Dawson's Lip-prints
Taking up residence in the L’Oréal Paris Powder Room in 2002 is New Zealand’s one and only ‘Mae West’ red, lip-shaped couch. The lounge lips are on loan from fashionista’s favourite furniture store, ‘Matisse’. The ‘Hot Gloss Seat' will serve as a platform for all L’Oréal Paris Powder Room media interviews during L’Oréal New Zealand Fashion Week.
The auction will be run by
www.trademe.co.nz and public relations will be used to raise
awareness of the campaign.
Chairperson of Look Good…Feel
Better, Frances Stead, is also Managing Director of L’Oréal
New Zealand Limited.
“L’Oréal is delighted to be able to give something back to New Zealand women in return for their support over the years,” Mrs Stead says. “All New Zealanders will be able to bid for their favourite kiss, on the country’s biggest on-line auction web site”.
The Look Good…Feel Better auction goes live at 10.30 am on October 22 during the official opening of the L’Oréal Paris Powder Room and runs during L’Oréal New Zealand Fashion Week and up until October 29.
Next to an illustration of each kiss on TradeMe will be a caption describing the donor and any special thoughts he or she may have about the kiss or the charity it is aiding.
Kisses have already been promised by heart throbs Marc Ellis, Nicky Watson, Jay Laga’aia, Charlotte Dawson and Erika Takacs, as well as stars from the world of music including Renee from Tadpole; Boh Runga, Stellar*, and K’Lee. Other kissable lips include those of Paul Holmes, Mary Lambie, Katrina Devine and dishy All Black winger Doug Howlett.
Mrs Stead has no inkling of how much the auction will raise, but she is hoping Kiwis will embrace the concept and help out however they can.
More than 165,000 people visit TradeMe.co.nz every month to buy and sell on-line. It is the country’s most popular online auction web site and one of the top five overall. TradeMe is presently conducting Team New Zealand’s on-line auction.
