"You only live once, and the way I live, once is enough." Frank Sinatra A cabaret with a story, this celebration of the music of Frank Sinatra stars some of Wellington’s hottest jazz musicians performing vibrant interpretations of the best loved Sinatra standards.
Cool and classy, hot and sultry, this show is the perfect way for festival-goers to cap off their evening of entertainment in Wellington city. After taking in a festival show or a meal, music lovers can stay on for a late-evening musical soirée. Opening on Valentine’s Day – what a romantic way to celebrate!
This dynamic show full of fun and foot-tapping excellence includes his signature songs like My Way, New York New York, Lady Is A Tramp, and Mack The Knife as well as other Sinatra hits such as Witchcraft, All the Way and One More For the Road. A moving and intimate story links the songs bringing them to life and making us better acquainted with “the Chairman of the Board”.
Starring: Andrew London (singer with Wellington bands “Hot Club Sandwich”, “The Mod Squad”, and member of 91ZM’s Carol’s By Candlelight”); James Cameron (singer and double-bass player with “The Velox Brothers”); April Phillips (vocalist with “Three’s A Crowd”, formerly of jazz trio “Midnight Rendezvous”); Norman Meehan and Lance Philip (pianist and drummer with “The Velox Brothers”); Johnny Lippiett (scorching saxophone), and actor Tracey Savage telling the story.
"I wish that one of these days somebody would learn to do [my art] so it doesn't die where it is." Frank Sinatra
