Proposed Settlement Reached With 5 Sth ISland DHBs
Joint Statement From The New Zealand Nurses Organisation and South Island DHBs
After two days of mediation a proposed settlement has been reached in negotiations between the New Zealand Nurses Organisation and five South Island DHBs of the South Island MECA (Multi Employer Collective Agreement).
The South Island MECA covers nurses, midwives and health assistants in the Southland, Otago, South Canterbury, Nelson/Marlborough and West Coast DHBs.
The settlement will avert a strike planned for Friday, 19th September.
The settlement will be presented to NZNO members at stop work meetings on Friday and early next week.
NZNO advocate Glenda Alexander said the proposal would have the recommendation of the NZNO negotiating team.
The DHB employers said they appreciated the efforts
of all involved in the
negotiations.
