The New Zealand dollar hit a new record low of US 40.3 cents
this afternoon, following comments by Reserve Bank head Don
Brash at the Finance and Expenditure Select Committee this
afternoon, warning of a possible return to stagflation, the
combination of high inflation and negative economic growth
last seen in the Muldoon years.
