Venerdi Santa (Holy Friday a.k.a. Good Friday) was marked at
San. Pietro Bassilica Rome with a two hour long service
attended by thousands of pilgrims and Romans. Il Santa Padre
(The Holy Father Pope John Paul II) was present - and can be
seen as a white speck in the bottom right of the panoramic
picture below - but due to his failing health was unable to
play his usual role in the service marking the anniversary
of the crucifixion of Jesus Christ.
