Scoop is looking for a new Web-Editor.
The position is suited to a recent journalism graduate, who is prepared to do the grunt work of posting news on the website, but has the talent and confidence to write news stories as required.
You will need to have a sharp sub-editor’s eye, the ability to write snappy and to-the-point headlines, and a good news sense - as you will be largely responsible for selecting items for the front page.
Scoop’s bread and butter is national politics, so an interest in Parliament and a curiosity about lobbyists and activist groups is desirable.
You’ll need to be easy-going about working in a home office set-up where you will often be without supervision.
A computer with Internet access and own transport would be an advantage.
The position is based in Wellington and part time applicants will be considered.
