Bush, Condi and 9/11 Commission Dance Around Details of Genoa Warning
From Kyle F. Hence
9/11 CitizensWatch
President Bush, Condi Rice and the 9/11 Commissioners all mentioned the G-8 Summit over the past week. However, most are just not looking at or acknowledging that there is now an 'Elephant in the Room.'
You know what they say...the 'devil is in the details' (others insist 'God') but either way, it certainly applies here; but virtually no one seems to want to bring it up because of the implications...that the President requested the PDB he ended up recieving on August 6th precisely because he took seriously the Genoa threat of suicide bombers attacking the Summit site even if some in his administration dismissed them as unsubstantiated.
One should wonder what is in the additional 10.5 pages (hinted at by Roemer) of the Aug 6th PDB and if in fact it goes into more detail about 'preparations for hijacking'. And one wonders if Tenet got wind of the Moussaoui arrest on August 17th, the same day he admitted to flying to Crawford to brief the President. This fact he conveniently forgot while under oath before the 9/11 Commission. Could it be they knew more than they let on? The indicators are saying yes and the signs are they are trying to cover up.

Tells of Threat at Genoa Summit
Plot:
Officials there took seriously a report that terrorists
would try to crash a plane to kill Bush and other
leaders.

WASHINGTON - U.S. and Italian officials were warned in July that Islamic terrorists might attempt to kill President Bush and other leaders by crashing an airliner into the Genoa summit of industrialized nations, officials said Wednesday.
Italian officials took the reports seriously enough to prompt extraordinary precautions during the July summit of the Group of 8 nations, including closing the airspace over Genoa and stationing antiaircraft guns at the city's airport.
But a U.S. official said that American counter-terrorism experts considered the warning "unsubstantiated."
In either case, the reports suggest that Western governments were aware that terrorists might one day use a hijacked airplane as a suicide weapon--as they did Sept. 11 in attacks on the World Trade Center and the Pentagon.
