NEWSFLASH: Turia Still Considering Options - PM

At a press conference just completed the Prime Minister has told reporters that should Associate Maori Affairs Minister Tariana Turia vote against the Seabed and Foreshore Bill then she will "need" to lose her ministerial portfolios.

The PM said Ms Turia, who left today's caucus early around 45 minutes after it began, had been given permission by the Labour Party caucus to vote as she wishes on the bill including if she wishes to, to cross the floor vote against it.

The PM however said Ms Turia was still considering her options and that work was still being done to try and, "find a way through."

That said if Ms Turia voted against the bill though there would be "a need" for her to lose her ministerial portfolios.
