Opposition Leader delighted at news of Royal Visit
The Leader of the Opposition has welcomed news that Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II has decided to visit New Zealand following the CHOGM meeting in Brisbane next year.
"As Prime Minister last year I requested that Her Majesty consider such a visit, and I am delighted that she has agreed to come," Jenny Shipley said from Dublin, where she is currently looking at economic, educational and IT initiatives.
"The huge majority of New Zealanders will welcome this news, especially on the eve of the Queen's Golden Jubilee year," Mrs Shipley said.
