Dirty politics starting already

Green Auckland Central MP Nandor Tanczos today said the dirty politicking had started again with a homophobic poster being pasted around Auckland, alleging to be part of Nandor's campaign.

The poster has a picture of National MP Pansy Wong under the headline 'Aren't there enough pansies in parliament already?' There is then a picture of Nandor under the text 'Vote for the man who'll do it right'. The poster uses the Green Party logo and features a made up quote attributed to Nandor.

"The dirty tricks have started again," said Nandor. "This poster has been put out by our opponents as a smear. It is in no way connected to the Greens. This is cheap, nasty, gutter politicking. Clearly National has nothing to gain from this. People should ask who would benefit from tricking voters into thinking the Greens are homophobic.

"The Greens reject gutter politics. We will play it straight and stick to the issues. People know what happened last time a dirty tricks campaign was launched on the Greens."
