Over 100,000 Auckland superannuitants get free GP visits

The Auckland superannuitant population of over 100,000 will get free GP visits if Jim Anderton’s Progressive Coalition is back in government, says Deputy Leader Matt Robson.

The Progressive Coalition has made free GP visits for all New Zealand school children and all superannuitants a cornerstone commitment in the next government.

Matt Robson was speaking to a Greypower meeting in Auckland today.

“Helen Clark and the Labour party have made it very clear they want Jim Anderton and his MPs back in the government.

“That means that in the next term, the Progressive Coalition can push ahead with their plan for free GP visits for these groups,” say Matt Robson.

- 20,175 superannuitants in North Shore City will get free GP visits

- 14,832 superannuitants in Waitakere City will get free GP visits

- 37,929 superannuitants in Auckland City will get free GP visits

- 23,601 superannuitants in Manukau City will get free GP visits

- 3954 superannuitants in Papakura district will get free GP visits

- 11,355 superannuitants in the Rodney District will get free GP visits

In total 111,846 superannuitants in Auckland who will get free doctor’s visits.

The Progressive Coalition is also committed to introducing fifteen dollars a month rebate on power bills during winter for all superannuitants.

“We need as many voices as possible around the Cabinet table to make it happen. That means not only a vote for Jim Anderton, but a party vote for the Progressive Coalition too,” says Matt Robson.
