Spin from Dr Cullen on OECD Growth
Spin from Dr Cullen on OECD Growth
The country should know the truth about the OECD overview for New Zealand - which is substantially different from the spin being created by Finance Minister Dr Cullen, ACT Commerce Spokesman Deborah Coddington said today.
"The OECD overview states that in the first half of 2002, "the flow-through effects of high export prices fuelled domestic demand" leading to "exceptionally strong" growth. This of course has nothing to do with Dr Cullen or his tax-and-spend Government, but is due to the liberal economy brought about by Sir Roger Douglas and Ruth Richardson.
"The OECD warns, "expenditure slippage may also be harder to resist now that the government has not renewed its three-year spending cap".
"The country
needs to know the truth. It is time for this Government
to admit its policies are not taking this country forward.
We are going backwards, and we are all going to pay,"
Miss Coddington said.
