Green MPs at weekend peace rallies
Green MPs continue to voice strong opposition to the conflict in Iraq, and will participate in rallies throughout New Zealand this weekend.
Saturday, March 29
Thames Jeanette Fitzsimons will attend a peace vigil, beginning at 9.15 outside St James Church.
Wellington Sue Kedgley will appear the Peace Camp / Resist the War presence outside the US Embassy. The camp runs from Friday evening to 8.30am Monday morning, culminating in a rally to highlight the message to commuters.
Nelson Mike Ward rides his bike for peace, for the Peace in Streets ride. The procession will meet at the Cathedral Steps, at 1pm, and will ride along the waterfront.
Christchurch Rod Donald will attend a peace vigil, in Cathedral square from 12.30.
Sunday, March 30
Auckland Keith Locke will participate in a peace demonstration from members of Auckland's Muslim community. They will be marching from Queen Elizabeth Square, 2pm.
Christchurch Rod Donald will march for peace, from the Museum to Cathedral Square, beginning at 2pm.
