Government Wasting Taxpayers' Money On Suspected Terrorist
New Zealand First has accused the Government of wasting well in excess of $60,000 of taxpayers’ money already on a suspected terrorist while New Zealand families struggle to make ends meet.
In response to a question from Rt Hon Winston Peters in Parliament today the Immigration Minister admitted that suspected terrorist Ahmed Zaoui, currently held at Paremoremo prison, has already cost the New Zealand taxpayer an estimated $60,000.
Mr Peters described the Algerian as a man who tore up his documents on the way to New Zealand and he should never have been allowed to board a plane to enter this country in the first place.
“It is absurd that this Government continues to put
the needs of a suspected North African terrorist first while
ignoring the essential needs of ordinary, law abiding New
Zealanders,” said Mr
Peters.
