Williamson pleased to be back - and
apologises
Suspended National Party MP Maurice Williamson today said he was very pleased to be back in the fold and had given the President and the Leader an undertaking that, as a loyal member of Caucus, he would direct all his efforts to unseating the Labour Government at the next election.
"I strongly support National leading a centre-right Government, and will do everything in my power to see Don Brash as the next Prime Minister of this country.
"I made it clear to the Board in my letter seeking reinstatement that I both regretted and apologised for my past behaviour," Mr Willaimson said.
Mr Williamson
was responding to the announcement by the Party President
that his Party membership was to be reinstated.
