Wang Attends Caucus Retreat

Wang Attends Caucus Retreat

As we prepare to hold our three-day retreat in Wallingford, Hastings, the ACT caucus is in very good spirits, ACT New Zealand Leader Richard Prebble said today.

"We had our best post-election year ever - leaving commentators to agree that we were the quality team - and we had our best non-election year polling," Mr Prebble said.

"Our year has started well. National has formally adopted ACT's stance that Government policies should be based on need, not race, and the ACT caucus will examine strategies to promote our other policies - such as tax cuts for middle New Zealand, and a zero tolerance approach to crime.

"Caucus will also use this retreat to examine some fresh ideas in health, to reduce hospital waiting lists, and I have invited Kenneth Wang - number 10 on ACT's list - to join our retreat.

"I believe that, this month, the High Court will rule that ACT is entitled to have Donna Awatere Huata expelled from Parliament and replaced by Mr Wang. By having Mr Wang join our retreat, we will help him to be an effective MP from day one.

"Kenneth Wang will be an asset to Parliament, and his election is a great way for ACT to start the year," Mr Prebble said.
