1. JEANETTE FITZSIMONS to the Prime Minister: Will she ask the Governor-General to appoint a Commission of Inquiry to investigate the allegations made in an affidavit read to the House yesterday by Hon Ken Shirley so that they can be seen to be considered in a non-political setting; if not, why not?

2. KATHERINE RICH to the Associate Minister for Social Development and Employment (CYF): Does she stand by her statement that the "mother did not have a history of either physical or sexual abuse of her own children."; if so, does she still believe that the case of the six-week-old boy in Starship Hospital was "correctly assessed" by the Department of Child, Youth and Family Services?

3. MARK PECK to the Minister for Trade Negotiations: What progress is being made on trade negotiations with China and Thailand?

4. Hon BILL ENGLISH to the Minister of Education: Does he stand by his February statement that, with regard to schooling arrangements to be imposed in Invercargill, "it is not my intention to put enrolment schemes where they do not currently apply."; if not, why not?
