National adopts UF law and order policy; Alexander pleased

United Future’s law and order spokesman, Marc Alexander, says it’s very flattering and positive that National’s leader, Don Brash, is advocating United Future’s law and order policies.

“All Dr Brash’s recent announcements have been lifted from my book Justice with Both Eyes Open which was published in April this year,” said Mr Alexander.

“For a more complete appreciation of United Future’s – and now obviously National’s – policies, I recommend the following references in my book:

* Parenting classes for parents of young criminals – pp. 211-213, 228

* Focusing on ‘high risk’ children in unstable families – p. 228

* Holding parents responsible for crimes committed by their children – pp. 217, 227

* Private management of prisons – pp. 193-198, 227

* ‘Getting tough’ confiscation of the proceeds of crimes for gangs – pp. 177-178, 229

* More police – pp. 175-177, 215-216, 226

* All sentences for violent crime to be without parole – p. 226

“All good commonsense ideas are worth sharing and this simply goes to show that any future National Government would still need United Future to help research and develop its policies,” said Mr Alexander.
