Matt Robson Writes To Dail Jones On Zaoui

Matt Robson Writes To Dail Jones On Zaoui

Matt Robson, Progressive MP, sent this email to Dail Jones at eight o'clock last night in response to the NZ First MP's media release.

Dail,

I read your press statement of today on Ahmed Zaoui where you termed him a " parasite" who should be dispatched back to his persecutors in Algeria.

If I am not mistaken I believe that you have professed to adhere to Christian principles. I did not see any reflection of those principles of Christianity in your statement. Your statement was ludicrous. The reactionary influence of Winston Peters is obvious.

I suggest seven steps to assist you to make balanced statements:

1. Read the RSAA decision.

2. Actually count up the cost of the Attorney General launching court action to deny natural justice to an asylum seeker declared a refugee by the RSAA.

3. Watch the TVNZ documentary " Enemy of the State"- if you miss it tonight the Library will screen it for you.

4. Read the book on the case by Selwyn Manning- " I almost forgot about the moon".

5. Visit Ahmed Zaoui in jail.

6. Consider that one day , for whatever reason, you may be fleeing for your life.

7. Read the poem by Siegfried Sassoon on the General Strike.

I have always considered that it is best to speak with regards to the truth. I know that that is not a strong suit for NZ First MPs but you might consider that honesty in politics might be something worth striving for to make this a better world.

Matt Robson
