Land Access: Where Do The Other Parties Stand?
Land Access: Where Do The Other Parties Stand?
ACT New Zealand Rural Affairs Spokesman Gerry Eckhoff today challenged every political party in Parliament to tell farmers where they stand on the land access issue.
"From what I can gather, the current position of each party is as follows:
"Labour has made it quite clear, through its land access proposals, that it wants to strip farmers of their property rights.
"United Future supports the Government's dopey proposals through its association with Outdoor Recreation.
"We haven't heard a peep from Winston Peters, the Greens or Tariana Turia's Maori Party.
"National has voiced its opposition to the proposals.
"ACT's position is crystal clear: we unequivocally support a farmer's right to say who may or may not enter their property.
"I encourage the other parties to rethink their position and support our farmers in their struggle against Labour's land grab," Mr Eckhoff said.
