National Adopts Labour's Policies

ACT Leader Rodney Hide tonight said the National Party is wrong to stick with the Cullen Super Fund and not drop taxes immediately upon taking office.

Mr Hide's comments follow media speculation tonight that Dr Brash is set to announce his party's intention to retain the superannuation fund.

"This is a big u-turn for National. It's one that ACT doesn't support. It's better to have Kiwis saving their own money than relying on government to do it for them.

"Hardworking families are being squeezed. They need tax cuts now.

"National agrees with Helen Clark's top tax rate of 39 cents, Jim Anderton's 30 cent corporate tax rate, and now Cullen's dopey super fund. Voting ACT is the only way New Zealanders are going to keep more of their own money," said Mr Hide.
