United Future elects deputy leader
United Future leader, Peter Dunne, has announced that the party’s caucus had met earlier today and elected Whakatane-based MP, Judy Turner, unopposed as the party’s deputy leader.
It had always been intended that once the new caucus members had settled into their Parliamentary roles, one of them would be elected deputy.
“Naturally, I’m delighted my fellow MP’s have placed their trust in me to undertake the task of helping ensure United Future goes into the next election in the best possible shape to increase the number of our MP’s in Parliament so that we can continue to place our moderate, commonsense and family-friendly policies before the public,” said Mrs Turner.
Mr Dunne expressed his pleasure at the election of Mrs Turner, saying her compassionate, friendly nature and hard work on behalf of families are a huge asset to United Future.
