Minister must release McIntosh advice
National is calling on the Minister of Corrections to release all correspondence he has received from the community organisation supervising serial paedophile Lloyd Alexander McIntosh.
Law and Order spokesman Tony Ryall says the Government should make public the advice of people supervising Mr McIntosh.
"When it comes to public safety, the Government should put the advice of the experts ahead of their own cost-cutting measures. If the Minister is confident in his decision, he will release the advice he has received.
"The threat Mr McIntosh will pose with one supervisor is much higher than with two. Mr Swain has received advice to this effect and I want to know why he hasn't taken it.
"I understand the Minister's office received correspondence from the organisation in last two or three weeks," says Mr Ryall.
