ACT welcomes NCEA inquiry

Deborah Coddington - Press Releases - Education
ACT Education spokesman Deborah Coddington today welcomed the Government's decision to hold an inquiry into the NCEA Scholarship debacle.
"I'm pleased that the Government has moved on from its comatose state, stopped running around like a headless chicken looking for someone to blame, and is now looking to find out the cause of the problem.
"For many days now Labour has looked as rudderless as the ferry Awatere, while it attempts to apportion blame to anybody and everybody but themselves.
"Despite moves to mop up this mess, questions still remain over exactly when Education Minister Trevor Mallard first learned of this shameful mess, and was that why he handed this hospital pass to David Benson-Pope in last year's portfolio reshuffle," Miss Coddington said.
