Fellowship winners in public service

State Services Minister Trevor Mallard today
announced the three recipients of the 2005 Leadership
Development Centre Fellowship awards.
"These awards play an important role in the work that is going on to strengthen the public service. They are a great opportunity for senior public service staff to develop their leadership potential through exposure to leading edge education programmes," Trevor Mallard said.
"The $45,000 award grant allows talented managers to study at leading international institutions where they can benefit from cutting edge thinking, new ideas and new practices. They are also a good opportunity to form international networks. "Congratulations to this years recipients. The public service will benefit from their increased knowledge and new insights on their return to New Zealand."
The 2005
Fellowship winners are: Geoff Bascand, Deputy Government
Statistician, Statistics New Zealand. Geoff will attend the
Executive Education programme in Strategy and Organisation
at Stanford Business School, and the AVIRA (Awareness,
Vision, Imagination, Responsibility, Action) programme at
INSEAD in Paris. Sue Boland, Strategic Development Manager,
Identity Services, Department of Internal Affairs. Sue
plans to attend the Mobilising People programme at IMD in
Switzerland, and the Strategic Toolkit at Henley Management
College. and Rob McIntosh, Group Manager, Strategic
Information & Resourcing Ministry of Education. Rob has
chosen the Developing the Strategic Leader programme at the
Centre for Creative Leadership at Colorado Springs, and
Leading Change and Organisational Renewal at the Stanford
Graduate School of Business.
