ALL BLACK DEMAND ASTONISHES SOCIAL SERVICE AGENCIES!

When is a $50,000 bonus not enough?

A one off payment of $50,000 would support our Hamilton Combined Christian Foodbank for a whole year.

Ordinary Kiwi families that access the Foodbank will take home a third (per annum) of the one off additional payment that the All Blacks have been offered.

After paying expenses like rent, food and power they are lucky to have, on average, $40 to $50 left for luxuries such as school activity fees, doctor’s bills, bus fares and clothing.

These people are fans. They and their Children aspire to follow in the footsteps of Carlos, Dougy, and Richie.

Professional rugby players are generously paid by anyone’s standard, without putting a price on winning.

Within this context the demand of the players is obscene. Boys it is time to reflect on what you already have and what ordinary kiwi’s don’t!

Can we suggest, and of course you will win the world cup, that you consider the good that could be done with a percentage of your gain being given to social services who work with those most at risk in our communities.

Stick your hands in your pockets boys. It’s not a good look. What’s really at stake here!
