Destiny New Zealand 2003 Party Conference

New Zealand's newest Christian political party, Destiny NZ, will be releasing the first stage of its policies at an Auckland conference this Saturday (25 October 2003). Health, education, welfare and economic issues will be addressed, as well as law and order, genetic engineering and the Treaty of Waitangi.

"Destiny NZ's policies are very family friendly," says Richard Lewis, the Party Leader. "Whether we're talking about health, education, the economy, Treaty issues or even GE, we have designed our policies to empower NZ families and to uphold the institution of marriage."

The party will also be presenting its first tier of Destiny NZ delegates who are earmarked for candidacy and leadership at the next elections.

"Our strategy is to develop the party in three stages heading towards the 2005 elections," says Lewis. "This weekend we'll sign off stage one with more than twenty first class delegates being announced."

Destiny NZ was launched on 4th July 2003 and has since gained increasing support. In a recent survey conducted by 'Investigate Magazine', the party polled 26%, a close second to NZ First (28%), leaving National and Labour in their wake.

The party's Labour weekend conference will attract more than three thousand people from around the country, making it NZ's largest political party event of 2003. The Destiny choir will perform the national anthem and the Destiny NZ theme song 'One Nation'. Senior Minister of Destiny Churches International, Pastor Brian Tamaki, will also give an address to the churches. Party President, David Jesze, and Party Leader, Richard Lewis, will then give the party's organisation and policy presentations.

Destiny NZ's conference is open to the public.
