Animal Action Week Of Activism

Globally animal activists will be having a week of actions with the sole aim to shut down an animal-testing lab: Huntingdon Life Sciences (HLS) (see: www.insidehls.com for more information).

Wellington Animal Actions campaign is named "OPERATION: 500" after the fact HLS kill 500 animals a day in their labs. 'OPERATION: 500’ is an week of global actions from 31st May to 6th June against HLS.

Wellington Animal Action will be targeting two HLS targets in Wellington who pay HLS money to needlessly inject and shove commercial chemicals down animal's throats and into animals skin. The exact target for the Monday 31st demonstration is not yet disclosed.

The following list of some of the targets who operate in New Zealand: Yamanouchi, Sumitomo, Asahi Glass Corp, BOC, NZ HLS shareholders and Bayer. For More information on HLS customers visit www.shac.net.

Saturday's Operation:5 00 target will be Shell petrol, which pays HLS to test their products on beagle dogs, rabbits and Monkeys.

Anthony West from Wellington Animal Action says “HLS aren't trying to cure diseases or aliments, but are cruelly testing products made for profit like Herbicides, Pesticides, household products, drugs and food additives, testing on animals will not show something is safe or not.” (See: Physicians Committee for Responsible Medicine www.pcrm.org for further evidence).
