'Had a Field Day in Hamilton!' - Destiny NZ

'Had a Field Day in Hamilton!' - Destiny NZ

Political party Destiny New Zealand exhibited for the first time at the Field Days in Hamilton last week.

"We were there to listen to the concerns of the rural community and introduce some of our key policies that impact farmers and their families," says Richard Lewis, the Party Leader of Destiny NZ. "It was a busy week and we had lots of positive feedback. We really appreciated the opportunity to meet face to face with Kiwis at grass roots level and had some passionate discussions about topics ranging from export and business to the Civil Union Bill and the Treaty of Waitangi. The feedback has not been dissimilar to the feedback from the cities - people want to be appreciated and rewarded for hard work, and they want to know their children are safe. These are genuine concerns that this Government is failing to deliver on."

David Jesze, the Party's spokesman for economics, said that many farmers were frustrated by the lack of government support in many areas despite contributing strongly to the domestic economy.

"The rural community responded very positively to Destiny New Zealand's dedicated Exporters Support Policy," said Jesze. "The agricultural sector is responsible for nearly half of all our exports and has an enormous impact on the prosperity of our nation. We must therefore support our farmers in every possible way, as they are wealth creators. Apart from reducing compliance costs for business as a whole, Destiny New Zealand will provide tax incentives for exporters."

Destiny NZ will be holding a public meeting in Auckland on 3rd July 2004. The meeting starts at 7.00pm and will be held at the Destiny Building located at 18 Allright Place Mt Wellington, Auckland. (Destiny NZ will be presenting its delegates at this meeting)
