DHBs Must Stop Public Posturing & Return To Talks

District Health Boards Must Stop Public Posturing and Get Back to Talks

Council of Trade Unions president Ross Wilson today called on district health boards to stop public posturing and return to negotiations with the New Zealand Nurses Organisation.

“The CTU is surprised and disappointed that DHB employers unilaterally terminated negotiations yesterday as part of some pre-determined media campaign,” Ross Wilson said.

“This was a provocative move and can do nothing but increase tensions in a difficult negotiation.

“All New Zealanders support a fair pay settlement for nurses and that is only going to be achieved in the negotiation room,” Ross Wilson said. “Nothing will be gained by trading claims through the media.”
