Press Release Libertarianz Auckland Mayoral Elections
A Big Thanks to NZ Police
Libertarianz Mayoral Candidate would like to give thanks to the NZ Police for their efforts to stamp out vandalism against electoral hoardings. "I have had a chance to see first-hand the police ensuring that vandalism of election signs does not occur."
"Being a bit of a night owl, I spent Monday night putting up signs advertising my mayoral candidacy. On two seperate occasions I was stopped by police inquiring what I was doing. No doubt a young person wearing a hoody and baggy jeans looks a bit suspicious when around eection hoardings at 3am," says Berry with a smile. "Candidate hoardings, with the exception of mine, are expensive to produce and maintain. Time spent picking up vandalised signs is time and money wasted."
Berry also notes the ideological logic behind sign attacks saying, "We see time and time again that the supporters of the left, with their distaste for property rights, are the ones instigating these attacks. A 'John Banks for Mayor' hoarding, with a City Vision sign put through it was just one example I saw last night."
"When the police are making such a large effort to stop this occuring, they deserve a very appreciative 'thanks' from those who benefit."
