DEFEND THE LEGACY – WE’RE MARCHING IN MARCH!

‘Defend the Legacy’ is the call going out to the Christian community of New Zealand in the face of Labour’s same-sex marriage law (Civil Union Bill) introduced in parliament today.

“This result is a tragedy for New Zealand families - this government has gone too far. There has never been a more important time to stand for families and the institution of marriage – our children and grandchildren depend on it,” says Pastor Brian Tamaki, Senior Minister of Destiny Churches.

On Saturday 5^th March 2005 a mass march will advance over the Auckland Harbour Bridge and finish at the Auckland Domain. The event represents a significant stand for family values, the institution of marriage and the wellbeing of children.

Pastor Peter Mortlock, the Senior Minister of City Impact Church is urging New Zealanders to take ownership of vital issues facing the nation.

“Once again our government has forced another piece of morally decaying legislation upon our nation that the majority of New Zealanders do not want. They may have seemingly won a battle, but they haven’t won the war. This march will endorse the fact that New Zealanders want a decent society to live in and to bring up their kids. We need to make a stand for the future generations of New Zealand, and see some morality come back into our nation,” says Mortlock.
