Where: http://www.netawards.org.nz

When: Wednesday, October 3, 2001.

The NZ Internet Awards for 2001 have been awarded and go to the individuals and organisations detailed below. Our congratulations to them and we hope they appreciate having their excellence recognised by the New Zealand public through these awards.

Our congratulations also to the other finalists, those who received a large number of write-in votes but did not win, the others who were nominated and well, anyone else making the New Zealand Internet space a more interesting place.

Our thanks to all those who have helped out behind the scenes; in particular Eaden Mckee for his excellent coding efforts, James McGlinn at Entertainz for giving the project a virtual home and those on our original panel of judges. Thanks also to the members of the public, industry and media who nominated, voted and covered this event so we could achieve the goals we set out to achieve. A more in depth look at this is available through the website at www.netawards.org.nz.

Highlights include: Public Nominating and Voting, categories that award content and function not just design and form,"Open Source" code and transparent decision processes and an exciting public award ceremony. In all this means these awards are the most accurately representative of public opinion and true excellence of any awards in the country, whether for the Internet or any other medium.

The 2001 New Zealand Internet Awards is a not-for-profit project staffed by a group of volunteers from the NZ Internet and Media Industries. Donations of money, products and services have been accepted from donors to finance essential services.
