Bumpy Old Summer Continues

Bumpy Old Summer Continues

MetService meteorologists have issued severe wind and heavy rain warnings for another front moving across New Zealand on Saturday.

"Brace yourselves for another bumpy ride," commented MetService Weather Ambassador, Bob McDavitt. "Northwesterly winds ahead of this front are likely to reach severe gale force initially in parts of Canterbury from 6am on Saturday morning, and then over Marlborough and much of the southern end of the North Island from 9am Saturday until about midnight. Heavy rain with the front is forecast for the southern Alps and the ranges of northwestern Nelson."

Further details of this incoming wind and rain are available from the www. metservice.co.nz website.

Another active weather system is expected on Monday night or Tuesday. This should bring a further period of rain especially between Taranaki and Nelson.
