Assigned Residence Orders to 15 Admin Detainees
The Issuing of Assigned Residence Orders to 15
Administrative Detainees
In the framework of the fight against Palestinian terrorism, its infrastructures and operatives, Israeli security forces are taking preventative security measures to reduce the risk of terrorist attacks like those witnessed recently.
As part of these measures, and accordance with the authority granted to the military commander by both international and local law, GOC Central Command, Maj. Gen. Moshe Kaplinski has signed assigned residence orders for 15 administrative detainees involved in terrorist activities to be moved from the West Bank to the Gaza Strip.
The detainees have been taken to the Erez detention facility in the Gaza Strip, until completion of the judicial process. The detainees who have been issued the assigned residence order have been given 48 hours, from the time the order was issued, to appeal to an appeals committee, headed by a judge.
Assigned residence order is first and foremost a step to thwart terrorist activity, and is designed to prevent those detainees from resuming terror activity. It should be stated this measure is only taken against operatives that cannot be charged due to limitations of revealing intelligence sources.
The IDF is operating constantly using the legal
measures at its disposal to provide security to ensure the
safety of Israeli civilians.
