Palestinian Health Ministry: Israeli Troops Kill 27
Palestinians and Wound 147 others in One Week
GAZA, Palestine - A Palestinian Health Ministry report revealed Sunday that 27 Palestinians have been killed and 147 others wounded by Israeli troops over the past week.
Among those killed by the Israeli fire, there were four killed in extrajudicial execution attempts, the report hinted.
Also, three women were among those dead due to the Israeli troops as those troops hindered movement of the women while coming back from Egypt at the Egyptian-Palestinian crossing terminal, south of Gaza Strip, the report said.
Two victims were youth who were denied medical treatment by the Israeli troops, so they kept bleeding until they died on the spot, the report further said.
The report made clear that in the Alshijaiya neighborhood, east of Gaza City, alone, 12 Palestinians out of the 27 were killed by Israeli tank fire, which hit the Palestinians in the upper parts of their bodies, mainly in the heads, chests and necks, leading to their death.
As for Israeli attacks on Palestinian patients, the report disclosed that the Israeli troops denied access of six patients into clinics as five others were beaten severely.
Palestinian health centers have not escaped Israeli attacks, as the Al-Etihad local hospital in the West Bank city of Nablus was stormed along with two mosques by the Israeli occupying soldiers, who cast panic among civilians, the report pointed out.
The Israeli occupying forces escalated over the past few weeks their offensive on the Palestinian people, killing several civilians and wounding dozens others as Israeli tanks continue to act fiercely in Palestinian cities, towns, villages and refugee camps, the latest of which was the Israeli massacre at the Alshijaiya neighborhood in Gaza on February 11.
According to the Palestinian National Information Center (PNIC) of the State Information Service (SIS) in Gaza, the Palestinian death toll since September 2000, until February 13, reached 2,968 while the number of wounded was 38,727.
