Instant public mourning was declared including NGOs, while thousands of Palestinians took to the streets rallying and chanting angry slogans as well as burning vehicle tires.

At 5:10 of this morning, an Israeli missile hit the wheelchair-bound Sheikh Yaseen followed by two others, instantly killing him and tearing him into pieces. Mosques, using megaphones, immediately announced the killing of Yassen and urged people to hurry to the crime scene.

Such a crime has been described as being "timid" targeting Sheikh Yassen in addition to other civilians and would enhance and strengthen the unity among all Palestinian national and Islamic factions facing the Israeli barbarism that encroached all limits and red lines.

The strong state of fear that the Israelis thought would engulf the Palestinians following this crime has actually moved to the Israeli streets, as fear of retaliation attacks against Israeli tanks increased among the Israelis.

A state of high alert has been declared by the Israeli authorities in all its areas shortly after the murder. Further, the Israeli authorities imposed tight siege upon Gaza Strip and the West Bank, the Voice of Israel reported.

Concurrently, a similar state has been declared in the Israeli jails fearing any protesting actions by the Palestinian prisoners.

Such a state has been particularly declared in the Israeli prison of Shata, which holds a large number of Hamas prisoners, while more than 800 prisoners of all the Israeli jails refused having their breakfast, yet the prisons administrations believed that this step might be the beginning of a hunger strike, Israeli resources reported.
