RAM Residents Action Movement
Please take a stand for peace!
RAM unites many different communities, ethnicities & faiths. We are committed to improving the lives and the environment of grassroots people by linking you more into the governance of Greater Auckland.
RAM won a massive 87,000 votes in the 2004 Auckland Regional Council election. One RAM councillor, Robyn Hughes, was elected, and we came very close with several other candidates. RAM will be contesting the local body elections this coming October.
One of RAM’s priorities is social justice. RAM is working closely with a broad range of both Muslims and non-Muslims around positive alternatives to media articles which portray Muslims in a negative way.
RAM is helping to build the peace movement as an antidote to Bush’s unjust wars which spread the virus of Islamophobic racism.
RAM invites all Muslims to join with other New Zealand communities in the peace mobilisation this Saturday, March 17th, which is a global day of action marking the 4th anniversary of Bush’s illegal invasion of Iraq. We are gathering at 12 noon in Aotea Square, next to the Town Hall. Then we will all march to the US Consulate.
Bush is losing the war in Iraq, just like he has lost majority support inside America and around the world. A large and growing number of his troops don’t want to fight in his imperial crusade for oil & power. The more people in every land who march for peace, the more confident US troops will be to follow their consciences and refuse to fight, which would end this unjust war just like it did the Vietnam War.
RAM appeals to you: Stand up for social justice! Join the peace mobilisation in Auckland City! All together, we are united and strong!
