Rodney Residents say No to Super City

A recently released independent survey of Rodney residents has found that only 22% of Rodney residents want to be included in an Auckland Super City.

A Colmar Brunton survey of 1,200 Rodney residents found that 52% of those surveyed were opposed to Rodney being part of a new Auckland Super Council. 22% of residents supported Rodney’s inclusion in a Auckland Council, while 21% of residents had no preference either way.

61% of survey respondents felt that the proposed governance arrangements of the new Auckland Super City would not adequately represent their needs.

The independent telephone survey was carried out in June 2009 by Colmar Brunton and was commissioned by Rodney District Council to help inform the Council’s submission to the Select Committee on Auckland Governance.
