Two Men Arrested for Shooting Young Girl

Shore Police have arrested two men after a lengthy
investigation into the shooting of an eight year old girl in
Marlborough Park, in the suburb of Glenfield, in February.
The two men who are both aged in their twenties live in the vicinity of the popular suburban recreational reserve.
One of the men has been charged with allegedly firing an airgun and wounding the girl. An airgun pellet lodged deep into the girl’s thigh at the time of the shooting.
The other male has been charged with being an accessory after the fact. Both men will appear in the North Shore District Court on Tuesday 30 March 2010.
North Shore CIB investigators are pleased about the arrests. A team of detectives has been working for a number of weeks to achieve this result.
Police say the degree of closure will be helpful to the victim, her family and to all the neighbours who live in the locality of Marlborough Park.
