Two aggravated robberies in two hours
Counties Manukau Police are currently investigating two aggravated robberies at residential addresses in Papatoetoe and Mt Wellington.
The first incident took place yesterday at 5.50pm at Hoteo Avenue, Papatoetoe. At the address were three females and a child. One of the females was preparing food when two offenders entered through the front door of the property. One of the offenders presented a silver coloured gun at the female victim.
Detective Senior Sergeant Darrell Harpur says, "The female victim was threatened and the offenders demanded she give them money".
"The female feared for her own safety and advised the offenders where there was money within the property. The two offenders took two bags containing cash and personal items".
"Both males left the address in a red 1991 Holden Commodore saloon, registration YE7077. This vehicle has been recovered by Police but we are keen to hear from anyone who saw this vehicle between 5.00pm and 9.30pm yesterday evening", he said.
The second incident occurred at 6.40pm at Panama Road, Mt Wellington. One of the male occupants of the address answered the front door and was immediately threatened by a male offender with a firearm. A second offender pushed his way through the door and entered the address.
"The offenders made the two males in the house lie on the ground. One offender watched over them while the other offender searched the house. He returned with a handbag which contained cash and other personal items".
"The two males left the address in a red Holden Commodore which is thought to be the same vehicle used in the Hoteo Avenue aggravated robbery", said Mr Harpur.
