Police following up information on Raymond Piper

Title: Police following up information from public in relation to disappearance of Raymond Piper

Kapiti Police are following up several pieces of information received from the public, which may help locate Raymond Piper, missing since 15 May 2010.

Detective Senior Sergeant Mike Oxnam, head of the inquiry, says police have had a number of calls on the 0800 FIND RAY freephone number which was set up earlier this week, as well as emails to Findray@police.govt.nz.

DSS Oxnam says there has been a good response from the public in recent days and Police are now wading through all of the information to determine whether or not it is of use to the inquiry.

"Police have today published a one page advertisement in a Kapiti Coast publication which goes to every household in the district, in the hope that that may turn up more clues."

DSS Oxnam urges anyone with information to contact Police immediately.

"Anyone with any confidential information relating to Raymond's disappearance can be guaranteed it will remain so. Police can be contacted on 0800 FIND RAY or by text 027 241 1394 or email Findray@police.govt.nz."

ENDS

Please Note:

The family of Raymond Piper will be holding a media conference at the Kapiti Police Station at 10:30 tomorrow morning. This will be an opportunity to hear from Raymond's family and DSS Oxnam.
