Wellington Police Ask For Sightings Of Allison Mcphee Before Her Death

Police are continuing to investigate the death of 42 year-old Allison McPhee and are looking for sightings of her before she died.

Ms McPhee's body was discovered on Wednesday 28 July 2010 and post-mortem results show she met a violent death.

Acting Detective Inspector Scott Miller says the last confirmed sighting of Ms McPhee was on Thursday 22 July.

"We believe Ms McPhee left the Newtown Park Flats somewhere between 6:30pm and 7:30pm that night, possibly with a male."

"We think she has then walked down Mansfield Street to Riddiford Street, where she has gone to the New World supermarket to purchase a cask of wine."

Acting Detective Inspector Miller says Police believe Ms McPhee has then returned to her flat alone. She would have either been carrying the cask home by itself or possibly in a New World supermarket bag.

"We would like to hear from anyone who may have seen Ms McPhee in the early evening of Thursday 22 July. We'd also like descriptions of the male she may have been with."

Ms McPhee was 162 centimetres tall, or large build, with strawberry blonde hair. Police believe she was last seen wearing 3/4 length blue jeans, white sneakers and a blue fleece top.

These sightings will be crucial for Police to help piece together events leading up to Ms McPhees death.

"Police have received a good response from our area canvas of the Newtown Park Flats, however we urge anyone not yet spoken to, to phone Police on 0800 2 PUAWAI (0800 2 782 924). Police are particularly interested in any names of associates, male or female, who were known to Ms McPhee."
