2010 Rugby World Cup 2011 volunteers still needed
Interviews are being held next week for people who have
applied to be Rugby World Cup 2011 (RWC 2011) volunteers -
and there's still a chance for those yet to register to get
involved. Interviews are being held at the Christchurch
Town Hall over four days next week. If you haven't already
registered, you still can register on the spot to be
interviewed on Friday 5 November between 9am and
12pm. Christchurch City Council Recreation and Sport Unit
Manager John Filsell says there are still gaps to be filled,
but people need to be quick as interviews need to be
completed this year to allow training and uniforms to be
organised. "Volunteering is a fantastic opportunity for
residents to be involved in one of the biggest sporting
events our country will ever host," Mr Filsell
says. "Let's make sure we show off our city, and the
entire country, at its best. In Christchurch and Canterbury
we are well known for our warm welcome and hospitable
people. Now is our chance to show the world just how great a
place we have here." Don't miss out on being part of the
RWC 2011 action - come on down and get involved:
