Missing 80 year old Stokes Valley woman safe

Police locate missing 80 year old Stokes Valley woman safe and well

Police have safely located 80 year-old Stokes Valley woman Rangi (Nan) Boynton shortly before midday.

A team comprising of Police and Wellington Land Search and Rescue (SAR) volunteers located Mrs Boynton on a bush track, near Kennedy Grove, Stokes Valley around 11:45am.

Police Search and Rescue coordinator Sergeant Jo Holden says Mrs Boynton has been taken to the Hutt Hospital as a precaution but was in good spirits when she was located.

"Around 40 staff have been involved in the successful search over the past 24 hours, including Police, Wellington Land SAR volunteers, Hutt Valley Emergency Response team and Upper Hutt Community Rescue."

Sergeant Holden says Mrs Boynton's family wish to express their sincere thanks to their extended family, Police, Wellington Land SAR, Hutt Valley Emergency Response and Upper Hutt Community Rescue for their assistance in the search, as well as the wider Stokes Valley community.
