Wellington Police looking for Good Samaritan in relation to family violence incident in Miramar

Police are looking for a Good Samaritan who came to the aid of a woman involved in a family violence incident in Miramar in the early hours of Monday morning.

The victim was allegedly assaulted by her partner outside her Camperdown Road home around midnight Monday 8 November 2010, suffering serious bruising to her face.

Sergeant Andrew Compton of Wellington Police says as the victim was yelling out for help and crying, a man aged in his 30's came to her assistance.

"This man has made sure the victim was okay and we'd be very keen to speak to him as part of our inquiries into the incident."

Sergeant Compton says Police were not called to the incident, however the victim notified Police yesterday.

A 30 year old man has been charged with injuring with intent to injure and appeared in the Wellington District Court yesterday.
